Reflexology Tunbridge Wells

Reflexology is an ancient belief that your feet are a map of the body. The principle being that the organs and glands of the body have a corresponding reflex point in the feet.  The reflexes on the feet relate to internal organs, tissues and nerve endings of the body.

Acupressure techniques are applied to specific points of the feet promoting deep relaxation whilst rebalancing the meridians to assist in healing elsewhere in the body.  Blood and lymph circulation are also stimulated which is important for overall health.

Reflexology should bring a deep relaxation which is the best way for the body to rebalance, re-energise and be able to stimulate and promote the innate healing abilities of the body.

Good health is so important that every possible means to achieve this should be considered.  The science of Reflexology has been developed to aid with a healthy system.  Special learned techniques locate where disorders occur and then returns normal function to the respective organs and tissues.

Dwight Byers states: 'It is my hope that my medical colleagues will see the proven value of Reflexology as an effective disease-fighting method.  For the end result strives to provide wholesome, long life for us all.'

Reflexology is increasingly recognised by the NHS and some GPs are referring their patients for this therapy. Reflexology is often used alongside conventional care in hospices, hospitals and other healthcare settings, to help support patients with a variety of conditions.

Reflexology brings a sense of well-being by helping to rest, calm and relax the body, relieving strain and improving mood and aiding sleep.

I believe an important aspect of reflexology is freeing blocked energy.  For example, if there has been an upset, problem or injury in our life energy may become stuck and congested in our system, even if an event happened a long time ago.  The body may hold onto the trauma.  By stimulating the reflexes in the feet and encouraging the blood and lymph flow this may release the stagnant energy so that health and balance can be restored.

Although every person responds to treatment differently, it is suggested that allowing for four to six treatments is recommended. Nevertheless improvements may still be seen immediately in some cases.

I would love to welcome you to The Floating Factor for Reflexology in Tunbridge Wells.

What to Expect from a Reflexology Treatment

I will do a consultation on your first visit of your medical history and lifestyle to assess what is the best treatment to focus on.  You remain fully clothed just removing footwear.  Lying on the therapy couch I will give a warm up foot routine, followed by the reflexology treatment finishing with a lovely foot massage.  Reflexology has a therapeutic effect on the whole body so you should feel an improved sense of relaxation and wellbeing.

Very occasionally there maybe what is termed a healing crisis.  Some people may have a headache or feel cold this is transitory and reflexologists believe that it is getting rid of toxins in the body and part of the healing process.
